On-site Transformer Oil Regeneration Services (Online and Offline) by INVEXOIL’s Technical Team
The Invexoil technical team performs the transformer oil regeneration process on our specialized equipment in several stages. This process complies with the IEC 60296 standard to restore used oil and improve transformer performance.
The Importance of Regenerating Transformer Oil
Regenerating transformer oil is key to transformer efficiency and life. Over time transformer oil degrades from heat, electrical discharges, and contaminants. This degradation can cause reduced dielectric strength, increased acidity and moisture, and dissolved gases all of which can compromise transformer performance and safety. By regenerating transformer oil you restore its physical and chemical properties, increase dielectric strength, and remove harmful contaminants, so your transformer performs optimally, lasts longer and reduces the risk of costly failures and environmental impact.
Description of Invexoil’s Transformer Oil Regeneration Service Process
1. Initial Oil Condition Assessment
- In this stage, the oil in the transformer is assessed. The Invexoil team uses advanced tools to measure oil parameters such as acidity, moisture, suspended particles, breakdown voltage, surface tension, and other physical and chemical properties. This will determine if regeneration is needed, and which method is best.
2. Setup of Oil Regeneration Equipment
- After the assessment, the regeneration equipment is set up. This can be done online, without transformer shutdown. If required, the equipment can be mounted on trailers or housed in containers for mobility and use at different sites.
3. Removal of Suspended Particles and Dissolved Gases
- The filtration process starts here. Invexoil’s oil regeneration units use special filters and advanced technology to remove suspended particles, contaminants, and dissolved gases from the oil. This step improves the dielectric properties of the oil.
4. Moisture and Dissolved Gas Removal
- A crucial stage in the oil regeneration process is the removal of moisture and gases. Invexoil’s technology reduces moisture and separates gases from the oil to improve its performance and prevent transformer problems.
5. Chemical Properties Improvement
- In this stage, the chemical properties of the oil, acidity, surface tension, breakdown voltage, and other characteristics are corrected. Invexoil’s equipment meets international standards to optimize the oil for transformer use.
6. Testing and Quality Reassessment
- After regeneration is complete the oil is re-tested to ensure it meets the IEC 60296 standards and other specifications.
7. Reporting and Completion
- Once the process is complete the regenerated oil is returned to the transformer, and the regeneration equipment is removed. A detailed report is provided outlining the oil condition, work done, and post-regeneration quality.
