Industrial Oil Purification Machine: Turbine Oil Purification

Over 85% of the system’s failure results from its oil contamination. This problem can be eliminated by on-time oil purification. This way, we can reduce oil replacement costs and increase the machinery’s lifetime.

The additional costs are a result of the following:

  • Loss of production time due to the machine’s failure
  • Compartments replacement
  • Oil replacement
  • Increase in maintenance costs Invex purification & filtration systems can remove different kinds of contamination such as water (solution & emulsion), gas (hydrogen, oxygen, carbon dioxide, carbon monoxide, methane…), suspended solid particles and volatiles (Ammonia, alcohol…) from the oil.

It helps the oil reach its NAS Standard. Invex machines are produced in different capacities from 500 to 12000L/H. They can be manufactured as portable or stationary.

INVEX Vacuum Oil Purifying & Filtering Machines

In common hydraulic oil purifying systems, the oil is heated and evacuated (regarding that in rough pressures, water is evaporated below 100ºc) then it is sprayed into a vacuum tank, this way free water and oil emulsion are evaporated and is driven out by the vacuum pump. This process is done well for transformer oils because the moisture level is very low in these kinds of oils.

Because the system is closed, the air driven out by the vacuum pump is at its saturation point so when it enters the vacuum pump, its moisture is condensed, therefore contaminating the oil inside it there are two strategies for overcoming this problem:

– Using a condenser or liquid ring vacuum pump. The liquid ring vacuum pump has a system that needs a water tank and a water radiator, and this may cause some difficulties for its commissioning (it’s not portable anymore).

In addition, these pumps can produce a rough vacuum (maximum pressure equal to the pressure at its saturation point.) Therefore, the moisture existing in the oil cannot be decreased enough (and reach the standard level). If using oil pumps, a water trap and condenser are needed but even in this case, some moisture contaminates the pump’s oil.

As cheap and easy maintenance and low expenses are very important characteristics of a device, pioneer companies in the oil purifying industry have decided to increase the system’s quality considerably and decrease its expenses. So, regarding this principle that air has different capacities for absorbing moisture, our company has invented a system that can solve the problems above.

– When oil that contains some moisture enters a system that is under a certain vacuum pressure, just a certain amount of it (moisture) is evaporated and driven out by the vacuum pump. Now if we drive some dry air into the system at a certain pressure and certain temperature, it tends to absorb the moisture that exists in the tank as much as it can.

This way, the total volume of the air that is sucked into the vacuum pump from the vacuum tank is increased and the air in the pump is not at its saturation point anymore. Because the air is not at its saturation point, the water that exists in the oil of the vacuum pump is not condensed so the oil lifetime will be increased several times.

The important points to consider are how to produce dry air and its entrance point to the vacuum tanks, how to contact the phases, and how to create a mass transfer area between this air and the oil that needs complicated psychometric measurements.

A few companies own this technology and Invex is composed of knowledgeable, well-educated experts (PHD-Ma) in the fields of chemical engineering, mechanic engineering, organic chemistry, analytical chemistry, electronic engineering, power engineering, instrumental engineering has been able to nationalize this technology and apply it in our product.

Vacuum Dehydration & Degasification

Oil is indirectly heated and fed into a vacuum chamber where it is dispersed into a thin film to vaporize water and dissolve gases at low temperatures. When the oil is dispersed into a thin film, heat transfer is increased in the boundary layer and the oil can be heated up faster.  Oil degasification and dehydration depend on temperature, viscosity, absolute vacuum pressure, dew point, and oil thickness. Using this technology, Invex has helped to save energy.

INVEX Industrial Oil Purification Machine’s Equipments

Vacuum Chamber:

The vacuum chamber is cylindrical, and it is equipped with two foam leak detectors and a level transmitter for controlling the oil level and avoiding the oil into the vacuum path.

Oil Filter:

A pre and magnetic filter that separates big particles. Final filters which are in an aluminum box can separate particles up to 3 microns from the oil.

Heaters:

They are used to prevent the heat degradation of oil. Heater elements are encapsulated in steel tubes thus completely insulated from oil to prevent a fire hazard. The heater is controlled by heavy-duty contactors and a temperature controller.  The oil temperature is thermostatically controlled.

ΔP Clogging Transmitter:

A pressure gauge and a pressure switch are installed on the filter. In the case of any clogging, the alarm can be shown on the control panel or HMI.

Flow Control:

It is used in the inlet/outlet path to control the flow rate of oil.
